The Spengler House
The Spengler House was the home of the Sangerhausen master carpenter, local historian and mammoth excavator Gustav Adolf Spengler and his family. It has been open to visitors as a branch of the Spengler Museum since 2001. This is where Spengler had his carpentry workshop and his legendary museum. The originally simple craftsman's house has been given a very idiosyncratic design and furnishings by Spengler's pronounced passion for collecting in combination with his manual skills. Wallpapered with inflation money, the library becomes a millionaire's room. Mysterious and original to look at, the house is full of stories about Spengler and his home town.
